Heinz Joachim Zander
Zander received his musical education at the Silesian State Music School in Breslau, where he studied piano, conducting, and composition. In late 1940, he was conscripted into the German military. After the war, he found himself interned in Sweden and later held as a prisoner in Russia until 1948. Upon returning to Hamburg, he completed his studies under different circumstances and obtained a degree in SMP (presumably referring to piano studies) by the end of 1949.
Since then, he has been working as a freelance piano teacher, accompanist, composer, and music editor. From 1972 to 2010, he served as a lecturer at the Hamburg Conservatory. He has an active career as a chamber musician and accompanist for vocalists, performing in concerts.
