The in-line handcrafted YFL-874W is visually striking and delivers a beautifully warm, rich tone, thanks in part to its grenadilla wooden body. However, with expert craftsmanship and thoughtful design, it also provides the powerful projection of our silver flutes, making it well-suited not only for solo and chamber music but also for symphony and philharmonic orchestra performances.
- The lip plate and headjoint body are sculpted out of a single piece of fine African grenadilla wood for a pure, natural resonance.
- The surface of the lip plate is extremely comfortable and provides secure control.
- A silver tenon fits the headjoint into the body, just as with a precious metal flute. This adds focus to the sound. It also helps to considerably reduce the weight of the flute.
- A similar silver tenon inside the foot joint connector reduces weight and prevents cracking. It also adds tonal body for improved projection.
- The tone holes are precisely crafted from inset grenadilla, allowing for wider holes similar to those on metal flutes. This further enhances the flute’s accurate intonation and tonal clarity.
