About
This flute is a very early example of Powell’s work, dating back to his first year of production, since moving on from Haynes. Each register of the flute is rich with harmonics, and offers a large dynamic spectrum, all whilst producing the dark, elegant sound Powell is renowned for. It’s fascinating to see that Powell’s signature sound hasn’t changed throughout the years.
This flute is equipped with low C# and C gizmos which allow the modern player to expand the tonal palate through cross-fingering, stabilise tuning, and facilitate hard low register passages. The body of the flute is in 1 piece and has a right-hand key that trills the thumb.
Condition
The padding is good, and the mechanism is regulated, the silver is in good condition
if a little aged. The flute has been well looked after.
