This duo presents the enchanting melodies of Jay Ungar’s famous composition, The Ashokan Farewell. The piece is inspired by the Ashokan Reservoir, located about 150 miles north of New York City. Jay Ungar has been organising an annual ‘fiddle and dance’ camp in the vicinity for over 30 years. The duo offers a captivating flute and piano arrangement, allowing the two instruments to blend harmoniously. The waltz has a heartfelt and slightly mournful tone that resonates with listeners.
The piece gained international attention after being featured in the television series, The Civil War.
