Johann Stamitz
Johann Stamitz (Born in 1717 in the Czech Republic-Died in 1757, in Mannheim, Germany) was a violinist, violist and renowned composer. As a child, he was taught music by his father. In 1745, he was appointed Concertmaster of the court orchestra of Mannheim. He founded the Mannheim school of symphonists and together with his colleagues, established the mid-18th-century style of orchestral writing.
