Composer/Horn Player, Proust (born in 1959) studied music at the Conservatory of Orleans and later the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique in Paris (1974). As a horn player, he was a member of Philharmonistes Chateauroux, the Ensemble Ars Nova and the Woodwind Quintet of Paris performing in Europe, the USA, Japan and Polynesia. Proust has written a vast array of pieces for various instruments, chamber music and larger ensembles.
To date, he has written a vast array of flute works including 83 flute and piano works, 3 pieces for flute duo, 12 solo flute works, 7 Two Flute and Piano pieces, 15 flute ensemble works, 3 Flute trio and piano pieces, etudes and piccolo pieces amongst numerous other flute compositions.
