About
For chamber music, Bach preferred the traverse flute, after the violin. However today it is impossible to determine exactly how much music he wrote for this instrument or the origin of those compositions that survive. This Urtext edition provides the player with an accurate realisation of the composer’s original intentions, with thoroughly detailed editorial markings and suggestions. The solo flute and cello/viola (continuo) parts are also included in separate inserts.
Johann Sebastian Bach
J. S. Bach was a German composer and musician of the Baroque period. He enriched the German music style through his skills in motif production and organisation of counterpoint and also harmony. Bach’s adaptation of rhythms, forms, and textures took influence from abroad, particularly in Italy and France.
