This special composition was commissioned by Zart Dombourian-Eby, piccolo player in the Seattle Symphony.
Levente Gyöngyösi
Gyöngyösi, an esteemed Hungarian composer, was born in Cluj (Romania) in 1975. He completed his studies under the guidance of Professor György Orbán at the Franz Liszt Music Academy in Budapest in 1999. Widely recognised on the global stage, Gyöngyösi is renowned for his extensive repertoire of nearly 80 choral pieces, many of which are composed in Latin. However, his creative prowess extends beyond choral music as he actively engages in various musical genres. His diverse body of work includes two operas, namely “The Stork Calif” and “Master and Margarita,” as well as oratorios, four symphonies, concertos, and chamber music compositions.
