The Sonatina in G major for violin and piano Op. 100 was written in 1893, whilst Dvorak was residing in New York City.
In a letter to German music publisher, Fritz Simrock he wrote about the piece, “It is intended for youths (dedicated to my two children), but even grown-ups, adults, should be able to converse with it…”
