About
Dutilleux (1916-2013) composed this Sonatine in 1943. This work was used as one of the competition pieces for the Paris Conservatoire Annual Concours.
Henri Dutilleux
French composer, Dutilleux, (1916-2013) studied at the Paris Conservatoire in 1933 and was awarded the Grand Prix de Rome in 1938. In 1942 he worked at the Paris Opéra and from 1961-1970, he taught composition at the École Normale de Musique and at the Paris Conservatoire (1970-1971).
His compositional output includes orchestral, instrumental, solo and chamber music work as well as vocal works, ballets, music for theatre and film scores.
