Louis-Antoine Dornel
Dornel (1680-1757) was a French composer, harpsichordist, organist and violinist. He was organist at numerous churches in Paris between 1714 to 1748. During 1725-1742, he took up the post of Music Master of the Académie Française.
Dornel’s works for harpsichord and for organ were highly regarded during his lifetime. He followed the musical traditions and tastes that were favoured by French aristocracy and concert societies, including traditional French dances etc.
