Denis Verroust
Verroust studied flute under Pierre Paubon, Ida Ribera, Régis Calle, and Francis Gabin.
Holding a Diplôme d’Etat and a Certificat d’Aptitude in flute, he has been a professor at the Palaiseau Conservatory since 1980, dividing his time between teaching, concerts, and musicological research. Verroust has been invited multiple times to the United States and Europe to participate in international flute events and has performed in France and abroad. He has had the opportunity to play as a soloist with Jean-Pierre Rampal, Claudi Arimany, and Philippe Bernold, and has made several recordings.
He has contributed to various publications (G. Billaudot, La Stravaganza) and authored numerous articles on the flute, its performers, and its repertoire. In 1991, he published the book “Jean-Pierre Rampal / Un demi-siècle d’enregistrements.” As editor-in-chief of “Traversières Magazine” for ten years (1991-2000). He was also President of La Traversière for nearly 15 years (until 2004).
Currently serving as President of the Jean-Pierre Rampal Association (AJPR), which he founded in June 2005, he is responsible for the record label “Premiers Horizons.” His work on Jean-Pierre Rampal has already led him to write numerous articles and reissue many of his recordings, either under the “Premiers Horizons” label or for Universal and Warner (Complete Erato & HMV Recordings – 69 CDs, 2015).
