Auguste Bonneville, a distinguished silversmith from 19th-century Paris, began his career working with renowned flute makers V. H. Godfroy and Louis Lot. In 1876, Bonneville took a pivotal step by establishing his own workshop in Paris, where he dedicated himself to crafting professional-grade flutes. His instruments quickly gained a reputation for their exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive, rich tone. Known for their slightly larger embouchures, Bonneville’s flutes produced a fuller, more resonant sound, setting them apart from the earlier works of Godfroy and Lot.
