About
French Composer Mel Bonis was born in Paris (1858-1937). Aged 16, she attended the Paris Conservatoire studying harmony, composition and accompaniment in the same classes as Debussy and Pierne. Famous composer, César Franck gave her piano lessons and championed her compositions. Her compositional output included over 300 works including works for piano solo/duos, chamber music, vocal and orchestra.
