Headjoints can radically enhance the sound of most flutes. With a vast array of head pieces made by several respected flute makers worldwide, each one differs by their embouchure cut, lip-plate and material. Â Headjoints can me made in sterling silver (as well as other silver purities), different carats of gold, platinum and wood.
Each headjoint offers different qualities including wide ranging tonal colours, projection, more/less resistance and ease of articulation.
When trying headjoints, we strongly advise that you try several different headjoints, as what one person may like, another may not! Headjoint choices are entirely subjective and with a range of choices in maker, cut and material, Â no one headjoint is the same.
