Headjoints can radically enhance the sound of most flutes. With a vast array of head joints made by several respected flute makers worldwide, each differs by its embouchure cut, lip plate and material. Â Headjoints can be made from silver, different carats of gold, platinum, and wood.
Each headjoint offers different qualities including wide-ranging tonal colours, projection, more/less resistance and ease of articulation.
When trying head joints, we strongly advise that you try several different head joints, as what one person may like, another may not! Headjoint choices are entirely subjective and with a range of options in maker, cut and material, Â no one headjoint is the same.
