Jacques Ibert
Ibert (1890-1962) was a renowned French composer and conductor who made significant contributions to 20th-century classical music. Born in Paris, Ibert displayed remarkable musical talent from a young age, studying at the Paris Conservatoire under illustrious composers such as Paul Vidal and André Gedalge.
Ibert’s compositions encompass a wide range of genres, including orchestral works, chamber music, operas, and film scores. Known for his vibrant and evocative style, his music is characterised by its rhythmic vitality, colourful orchestrations, and lyrical melodies.
Ibert wrote composed numerous works for flute including, Flute Concerto, Jeux, Piece, Trois pièces brèves, Paraboles, Histoires and Aria.
