Composer-Paul Wranitzky
Paul Wranitzky (1756-1808) was a Moravian-Austrian classical composer and highly respected conductor and violinist.
In 1784, he was appointed as music director to the court of Count Johann Baptist Esterházy of Galantha during which time, he also met Joseph Haydn. In 1785, Wranitzky became the Director of the Kärntnertrotheater orchestra and two years later, the Director of the Burgtheater, Vienna.
His vast compositional output includes numerous concerti for flute, cello, oboe, violin and piano as well as ten operas, over 45 symphonies, approx 56 string quartets and a substantial amount of orchestral and chamber music.
