About
Beethoven’s Violin Sonata in C Minor, Op. 30/2, was published in 1803 as part of his collection “Three Sonatas for the Pianoforte with the Accompaniment of Violin.” These sonatas reflect Beethoven’s artistic growth during a pivotal period in his career. In the early 19th century, faced with increasing deafness, Beethoven intensified his musical exploration, emphasizing originality and pushing the boundaries of composition. The C Minor Sonata, with its expansive movements and contrasting themes, captures this transformative phase in his life.
This sonata has been expertly arranged for flute and piano by renowned French flautist, Philippe Bernold.
